The owners of Southwood fully recognize and honour the Christian origins of Christmas. Over the years, however, Christmas has also become a season of joy, celebration, and goodwill shared by people of many beliefs and backgrounds. We have tried to capture that spirit in the outdoor decorations that brighten our home each year.
Lighting of the Lamps
Many visitors and passersby have enjoyed the beauty of the displays. Every illuminated decoration hanging in the trees has been lovingly handcrafted by John, one of the owners. Last year, we were delighted to add a beautiful new display along the side of the house near the new driveway entrance, bringing even more seasonal charm to the property.
Christmas Tour
Inside, the home reflects the warmth and wonder of the Christmas season. It has been our pleasure to open our doors to the St. James Dundas Christmas House Tour on four occasions over the past decade. We are especially excited to welcome visitors once again this year as the tour celebrates its 50th anniversary on December 5. Tickets will be available through St. James Dundas.
Our hope is that Southwood can continue to share a small measure of the joy, peace, and love that make this season so special. Whether people simply pass by to enjoy the lights or step inside to experience the home, we are grateful for the opportunity to spread Christmas cheer and create lasting memories for all who visit, this year and for many years to come.
